Students converge at the OE from all over, arriving in planes, trains, and automobiles at the end of August, then departing in December. Here are highlights about arrival and departure.
Lincoln Mill Pond, Autumn
The semester officially begins on Sunday morning, August 30th. You’ll want to plan to arrive on Saturday, August 29th so you can get settled in, and recover some from your traveling. BEFORE MAKING TRAVEL PLANS, READ "COVID-19 UPDATE FOR STUDENTS" AND "COMING TO LINCOLN FALL 2020" (links above). For those students who are here by Saturday evening, we invite you to a short hike followed by an informal drop-in dessert social between 8 and 9pm. On Sunday morning we'll begin with an optional walk orienting you to one of the popular hiking and running loops. In the afternoon, we may take a bus trip to town to stock up on groceries for the next few days. We’ll have an afternoon welcome and introduction session, followed by a picnic dinner on the back lawn. After dinner we’ll have our first discussion section on the summer readings.
