With the recent gift of the OE campus property directly into the hands of the Oregon Extension, we have entered a new chapter in our 50-year history. The cookhouse, cabins, library and surrounding forest—this century-old old lumber town of Lincoln—are the stage where rolling generations of students come to unplug, read books, chop wood, and clear their heads to finally reflect on life. The place and its infrastructure is where it all happens. It’s a gift to own the property, but buildings, infrastructure, and forest care now rest entirely on the OE. It is up to us to keep water flowing, buildings standing, and the grounds wildfire resistant.
For that purpose, this summer we are launching an Endowment Campaign with the goal of
$1 million to keep the OE campus amenable to habitation for the long term. Please consider a generous donation to help the forest and town of Lincoln keep making its peculiar OE dent in the lives of students for years to come.
For this fundraising campaign, we are using Zeffy. Zeffy is a trustworthy fundraising platform specifically for non-profits like the OE. They ensure that 100% of raised funds go towards our mission—they absorb the 3% credit card fee, so the OE receives every dollar you donate. To help defray their cost, however, and to support Zeffy’s own gift to us, you’ll see an option at checkout to tip Zeffy. There is a dropdown box that gives you the option to “Help keep Zeffy free,” where you can add any percent you wish, or none, by clicking on “other.” Zeffy is a
non-profit that provides this service to other non-profits and charities.
